The Crystal Serenity has just emerged from dry-dock.
Longest Crystal Cruises Dry Dock Ever
The Crystal Serenity spent two-weeks in dry dock. Working around the clock, the shipyard staff gave the entire ship a facelift. Crystal Cruises invested $25 million into the Crystal Serenity, both on the interior and exterior. The Remodeling focused on the staterooms, the retail spaces, and the pool deck.
Your Staterooms
All staterooms, the Penthouses, and the Penthouse Suites have been re-carpeted and new curtains hung. The beds have new pillows and new tufted headboards which reach from floor to ceiling. Mood lighting illuminates the area. There are new bedside cabinets. New sofas provide more third-passenger capacity, which ChicLuxuryCruises applauds as it adds to the number of staterooms available for that family cruise vacation.
The electronics have also been upgraded, with new flat-screen TVs, DVD players with Blu-Ray. New adjustable lighting. A great new feature are the doorbells and electronic do-not-disturb buttons.
Retail Space
Apropos, the boutique on Crystal Serenity was redesigned, and a new area dedicated to the Dior Shop, a Crystal Cruises exclusive. Facets was redone to resemble a jewelry box.
The Pool
THe pool area was redone with new sofas and lounge chairs. Circular pod beds like those found on the Crystal Symphony were added.
Other Enhancements
The new lighting on Crystal Serenity focuses as much on conservation as it does on style. New textured walls and custom carpeting in the corridors, as well as new artwork throughout the ship round-out the luxurious enhancements.
Almost, but not Quiet
It would have been great for Crystal Cruises if all the materials would have arrived on time, but with projects this big, some things don’t arrive on time. Their are new furnishings for the Penthouse and Penthouse suite verandahs, as well as new coverlets. Crystal Serenity’s Silk Road Restaurant has new carpet and linens on the way. These enhancements should be completed by the end of June.
Giving
Sofas, TVs, linens, and furnishings taken off the Crystal Serenity have been donated. All the bedspreads were off-loaded in Senegal, and Crystal Cruises filled eight 40-foot containers with the rest, shipping them to the Salvation Army in New Jersey.
