Crystal Cruises Breaks a Reccords

The resounding success of Book Now” cruise specials has led to Crystal Cruises setting new records for weekly October bookings, and monthly bookings.  The record-breaking October week-ending 10/31 was also Crystal Cruises second greatest booking week since January 2005, when they had three ships.

Crystal attributes the success to the “Book Now” fares, travel agents, marketing, and the Crystal Cruises name.

See 2012 Book Now and 2013 Book Now cruise specials.

Windstar Cruises Offers Free Beverages

Beginning with the Panama Canal, Caribbean, and Costa Rica cruises in December of 2012, Windstar Cruises will be offering free non-alcoholic beverages on all three of their yachts.

5-Star Oceania Cruises

Upper-premium line Oceania Cruises joins Crystal Cruises, Silversea, Regent Seven Seas Cruises, and the Yachts of Seabourn with a 5-star rating from Berlitz.  The 5-star rating is the highest rating Berlitz awards, and is awarded only to the top cruise lines. The available dining and culinary options, as well as the furnishings led to the award.

Silversea Offers New Entertainment

Ultra luxury cruise line Silversea has changed it’s traditional entertainment venue in favor of a “concert style” program. Choozi Entertainment, based in Nevada, created the program exclusively for Silversea.  The program is headed by Christopher Childers.  Mr. Childers has toured with Madonna, Michael Jackson, and Cirque de Soleil.

The new venue is currently being offered on Silver Cloud.  It opens on Silver Shadow, Silver Whisper, and Silver Wind this month.  It will be rolled out on  the Silver Spirit in March, 2013.

Shows and Venues include:

  • Musical performances ranging from classical to pop, opera to rock.
  • Signed, Sealed, Delivered, a Motown tribute
  • High C’s, featuring well-known classic and modern arias
  • Fabbalicious, highlighting the music of ABBA
  • Ships lounges will feature songbooks such as McCartney and Lennon, and Broadway show tunes.
  • The pool deck will host “Decades”, featuring dance music.

Le Cirque Comes to Holland America

LeCirqque logo

Holland America line continues to add to their culinary program with the addition of “An Evening at Le Cirque”.  For at least one night on most voyages, the Pinnacle Grill will be transformed into a place similar to what you would expect at a Le Cirque resteraunt.

In addition to the dining experience, guests can participate in cooking demonstrations and learn to cook dishes from the Le Cirque menu at the onboard Culinary Arts Center.

An Evening at Le Cirque will be available on all of Holland America Lines cruise ships.  Reservations are required.  Additional charges apply.
